Hi, everyone!
Today the staff of Gladys Magazine traveled to Pittsburgh to attend the Wedding Clickers Bridal Expo at Consol Energy Center. With approximately 5,000 people in attendance, Gladys shared our “Wedding Issue” and our present Summer 2011 issue with former and new fans!
One special guest – a guest that Pittsburgh adores – was at the event today, and PR Manager Devin Sears and Editor Andrea Patrick Forte had a one-on-one private interview with her. This guest (drum roll please)… is Kym Johnson from Dancing With The Stars!

Gladys Magazine: Obviously you trained for a while before Dancing With The Stars. Where did you train, and what is your favorite style of dance?
Kym Johnson: “I started in Austrailia, so I actually started in ballet, jazz, tap, and all of that kind of stuff. I got into ballroom when I was 13, and then I moved to London and did some training there. So, that’s basically where it all began. My favorite style is more of the ballroom ones, like the “fox trot” and I love all of the Fred and Ginger moves.”
GM: How did it feel when you and Hines Ward won the competition?
KJ: “It was amazing. The support that we had from Pittsburgh was just unbelievable. It was definitely an emotional ending to our journey with me getting hurt and everything, so that made it more special when we got the trophy. I wanted to do it for Hines because he really put so much into it, he sacrificed his whole off-season to come out to L.A. to do the show. I was so happy for him.”
GM: Have you talked to Hines lately? How is he doing?
KJ: “Great! We speak all of the time. He is going to be a friend of mine for life now. I’m used to seeing him all of the time, and then you don’t get to see him as much, so we talk on the phone a lot.”
GM: Our magazine is inspirational based. Who is your inspiration? Who inspires you?
KJ: “My mom. She comes out to L.A. a lot. She is an incredibly strong and beautiful woman, and she definitely inspires me!”
